My information has been taken from the book “Moon Signs”  by Sybil Leek,  who tells us that the moon is the most important barometer of our emotions.   She asserts that celestial equal rights for the moon are long overdue!

New Planetary Energy

all signs coexistJune opens with many changes in the planetary energies!

Mercury moved into Gemini where it is  very much at home.  Mercury rules communications and Gemini is the sign of the communicator!   Lets all talk!!

Venus moved into Taurus where it is also feeling quite homey.  Venus is the planet ruling Taurus.  Venus is love and money and Taurus loves  handling money!

Mars just moved into Cancer and will energize Cancerians and get them busy with their projects.  Cancer softens Mars competitive and often combative nature.

Jupiter went Direct today after being retrograde for 4 months.  He is in Libra at 13 degrees as he goes Direct.  Get ready Librans for some positive forward movement finally.  Everyone else look and see where 13 degrees Libra falls in your birth chart,  That’s where you should see things start to pick up for you in beneficial ways.

We also have a Full Moon at 18 degrees Sagittarius tomorrow June 9th and it pushes us to seek adventure and broaden our learning through our emotions.  This will mostly affect you if you have any planets in Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (all the mutable signs) between 15 and 23 degrees.

Lots is shifting in the heavens for us to experience in our lives.

If you want to know specifically how all these changes will affect you and want your chart done, please check my Pricing Schedule found on the menu bar above.

Wishing you happy times ahead!                            all signs colorful

Surgery and the Planets

Many people who have an interest in Astrology have heard that there are periods when it is unwise to have surgery.  There are times when your odds for successful surgery are better.  I want to share these guidelines because I think it is important to know.  This refers to ELECTIVE SURGERY ONLY!

cartoon surgeon

  • Try to plan surgery five days before or after the New Moon.  This is when the bodily fluids are at their lowest flow so there is less chance of swelling.
  • Avoid surgery five days before or after the Full Moon.  Bodily fluids are at their highest flow and there can be excessive bleeding, seeping from wounds or swelling.
  • Avoid surgery when it’s a ‘Void of course” Moon because surgery may not be performed correctly, or complications are possible.
  • Avoid surgery on the part of the body ruled by the sign that the Moon or Sun is transitting or moving through.  A list of the signs and parts of the body follows.
  • Avoid surgery when Mercury or Mars are retrograde as there could be misunderstandings, errors or confusion.  Mars rules surgeons and cutting instruments and the surgeon may be unsteady or unable to concentrate very well. Also there could be heavy loss of blood.

There are a few other things to do with the Moon that can be checked for you by an Astrologer, but these are the most important!

A FULL MOON CHRISTMAS

old fash santa animated

On Christmas, December 25th this year, we will have a Full Moon in the sign of chatty, communicative Gemini.  The last time we had a full moon on Christmas was in 1977!

So, with families joining together to celebrate the holiday, be aware that full moons bring out the crazies!  Be patient and tolerant and drive carefully.  Lunatic is a word derived from Luna, the name of the moon and when the moon is full, it’s in full energy phase.   It has a strong effect on the tides and even on the fluids in our body; and this time will also be affecting what people say.  You might have to bite your tongue more than once!  Please be aware of the energies out there and make this a happy, serene holiday for yourself and others.  trees and hearts

WISHING ALL MY READERS A MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A HAPPY, PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2016!!

When to have Surgery

surgery sign

This applies to ELECTIVE SURGERY ONLY!.  Sometimes we don’t have a choice and we must have surgery right away. but if you have the option to select the day,why not pick the most advantageous day.  The Astrological medical rules go all the way back to  Ptolemy and are also from reports published in medical literature by some doctors who do not happen to be Astrologers.

The most important thing to know is what sign the moon is in, as well as its position when it transits a person’s natal chart.  If possible do not schedule surgery on the day before, the day of, or the day after a full moon.  There is increased danger of hemorrhaging at this time of the month.

Also, don’t have surgery when the moon is moving through a sign ruling a vital organ; for example, when the  moon is in Leo which rules the heart  or when the moon is in the sign ruling the part of the body requiring surgery. For example, when it’s a Taurus moon avoid having a tonsillectomy,  Taurus rules the throat and the neck.

mars moon eaeth

The vitality of the body is decreased when the moon is near the person’s Ascendant and also when transiting Mars is opposing the person’s own moon sign.  Avoid it when Mars is close to 17 degrees of the person’s sun sign.  These placements can also prolong recuperation.

The above are the most important.  But if you want to look further to assure yourself that you did not leave anything to chance, you can also check the Sun’s position.  Just as with the the transiting moon, the sun should not be in the sign ruling the part of the body requiring surgery.  Ptolemy says that surgery on the chest  for example should not be done when the sun or moon are in Gemini nor breast surgery with the sun or moon in the sign of Cancer, which also rules the stomach.   Since the Sun gives us vitality, surgery at those times would drain our vitality.

cartoon surgeon

When Mars is retrograde which is not too often, avoid that time because the surgery could need to be repeated later or further surgery needed to correct a problem resulting from the first surgery.

There are other placements that could be checked, but for most of us, having our natal chart and an Ephemeris to check the daily planet movements, this is probably enough to know.  If anyone is interested in knowing other things to check, please leave me a comment and I can write another Blog on this subject.

About The Moon Sign in Your Chart

moon on your birthThe Moon sign in your chart has everything to do with your emotions.  It’s important to know where yours is located to understand your moods, habits, feelings, romantic inclinations and even your relationship with your mother!

There is much to be said about the Moon in each of the signs and here I will just mention a few facts about each Moon sign.  Also, analyzing the degrees of your Moon sign will give added information about you.   I will randomly select one from each sign as an example.  A lot of my information is from Sybil Leek, an old-time Astrologer who lived from 1917 to 1982 and has over fifty books published.

celestial pictureMoon in Aries people – A lot of energy is wasted on ideas that seem to fall apart and are not followed up by action.  There is lots of charm and enthusiasm.

Taurus Moon – They want love with all the frills and there is lots of attachment to family life.   They like music in their career.  There is  good common sense.

Gemini Moon – Constantly searching for new experiences.  Quick to deal with emergencies because they don’t know the meaning of fear, and they will take chances.

Cancerian Moon – The moon is at home here.  Moods range from high excitement to the depths of depression but neither mood lasts long.  Very shrewd, they can make money easily.

Leo Moon – Very loving and loveable folks.  They enjoy children and see them as a reflection of themselves and find it hard to let them go.   Very responsible in business life.

Virgo Moon – They love being admired for their bodily fitness.  But when obsessed, they can become very irritating insisting others exercise and diet.  Lots of analyzing going on.

Libra Moon – Charming and considerate with very good manners.   They understand other points of view and have pretty good judgment.   Don’t underestimate them.

Scorpio Moon – Phenomenal memories, even recalling childhood days.  They know how to hide their true feelings, but are extremely sensitive.  They have a strong need for secrecy.

Sagittarius Moon – They just know who they are and where they are going.  There can be optimism to the point of carelessness.  They believe they are lucky and they are good friends.

Capricorn Moon – Work and power are all important, little attention is paid to sentiment.   Many achieve world fame.  Men seem to cope with this Moon more effectively than women.

Moon in Aquarius – An outlet is needed for the vivid imagination.  They may seek out unusual relationships and love to study metaphysics and the occult sciences.  A strong need for personal freedom.

Moon in Pisces – Very strong intuition.  They want to do good for as many people as possible. May feel the world is so ill-adjusted that they want to reject it, but guidance teaches that this is part of their karmic experience.

DEGREES OF THE MOON ANALYZED:

Aries Moon – 1 degree – is usually a very shy person.

Taurus Moon – 14 degrees – Needs encouragement in youth to mix with others, feels inadequate.

Gemini Moon – 24 degrees – Dabbles in art appreciation, but not a producer.  Always lost in admiring the work of others.

Cancer Moon – 6 degrees – Unable to cope with money; either the lack of it or too much of it – money just comes and flows away, usually on trivial things.

Leo Moon – 17 degrees – Circumstances will probably take them away from their native land.

Virgo Moon – 24 degrees – Not likely to get married.

Libra Moon – 9 degrees – Aggressive nature; usually enjoys a good fight.

Scorpio Moon – 25 degrees – May be a wolf in sheep’s clothing when it comes to attracting the opposite sex.

Sagittarius Moon – 23 degrees – Emotionally insecure, difficult to find a stable companion to share life, so the insecurity deepens.  Several failed marriages later, they will still be searching.

Capricorn Moon – 24 degrees – May be blunt in speaking, yet friends recognize their sincerity and respect is earned.

Aquarius Moon – 28 degrees – Often found in compulsive gamblers.

Pisces Moon – 29 degrees – Lack of initiative as much as lack of opportunity makes them feel like a leaf being swept along in the wind.  They can rarely stay where they want to be or do what they would like to do.

A TRIP OF A LIFETIME USING ASTROLOGY

My husband and I took a cross country road trip in early September and spent five weeks enjoying the country and our visit with  family in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.                                                10682674_10203078567034232_1131426557_o

As an Astrologer, I wanted to start this trip on an auspicious day for it to be as pleasurable as possible.  The moon was in the travel sign of Sagittarius and we needed to begin the trip before the moon went v/c (void-of-course) so we got on the road with less than ten minutes to spare.  v/c is the short period that occurs once a month between the moon making its last aspect to a planet before changing its sign and going into the next sign.  It is said that anything begun on a v/c period amounts to nothing, or the path is plagued with false starts and unexpected hassles!   No thanks!   On the return trip, we had to leave under a Mercury Retrograde, which I would have preferred to avoid.  But with the luxury to travel leisurely and not have to worry about time schedules, we actually had no problem.  It didn’t affect our communications with each other in the car and we had no important communications to tend to.  Air travel would be a whole different issue under a Mercury retrograde.  We also remembered to cover our car and ourselves with protective spiritual white light each day and I filled the car with travel angels.

Leaving Phoenix we drove through Sedona Arizona where we met with our son for lunch.  He is lucky enough to live in that scenic wonderland.  We drove through Flagstaff and then to Gallup, New Mexico where we stayed overnight.  On day two we drove  through Albuquerque New Mexico and headed to Santa Fe where we had dinner and  then spent the night in Las Vegas, New Mexico.  Yep, there are two towns called Las Vegas in two different states, who knew???

10647518_10202858808580408_1664031869_o

We drove through the cute town of Trinidad Colorado on our way to Colorado Springs, where we saw the beautiful red rocks in the Garden of the Gods one day and the Air Force Academy, with its spectacular all-faith chapel the next day.  That must be on the list of the most beautiful places to worship.  We spent an afternoon in Old Colorado City and bought candy there at the original Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

We made a stop in Limon Colorado the next day and were very impressed with the huge wind farms along the way, which stretch as far as the eye can see.  Then we headed to Hayes, Kansas, where we stopped to see the bison and spent the night.

Next stop was Abilene Kansas to see President Dwight Eisenhower’s home and Meditation Chapel.  Then on to Salina Kansas for lunch, followed by Independence, Missouri where we spent the next night.  In the morning, we headed toward Hannibal Missouri to see Mark Twain’s town and boyhood home.  We enjoyed walking down to the Mississippi River and seeing the huge paddle wheelers.

20140911_110144

A very special stop was Springfield Illinois and the Lincoln Museum, as well as the home where Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln raised their three sons.  If you have never seen this Museum, you will be impressed!  You can go through the furnished log cabin where he grew up and also the White House where each room depicts a scene from Lincoln’s Presidency and includes several short movies.   In Decatur we passed really nice large land farms, then on to Champagne to spend another night.

10667651_10202915072266965_1364202267_o

We drove to St. Clairesville Ohio where we met up with a friend for an excellent buffet dinner.  We enjoyed our stay with him in Washington, PA.  We arrived in Gouldsboro, PA beginning our family visit.  From there we spent time with family members in Stroudsburg and Effort, PA;  Andover, Sparta, Towaco and Newton, NJ   We enjoyed an afternoon in New Hope, PA and another visit to Pittston, PA.   The time spent with our children, grandchildren and other relatives was priceless!!

It was time to hit the road again and the return trip took us seven days.  First stop was Harrisburgh, PA, then Strasburg, and Harrisonburg Virginia.  We enjoyed several good meals on the road at dependable Cracker Barrel.  I need to check out Roanoke, Virginia; the town that once disappeared!   A stop in Staunton and then Bristol, Virginia at the border of Tennessee.  We picked up Rt. 40 in East Tennessee, stayed in Dandridge  and drove to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to enjoy the sights.  We drove through Nashville’s Music District and spent the night in Memphis.  No time for Elvis Presley Boulevard, but I had seen Graceland before.  Another night was spent in Conway Arkansas, with stops in Van Buren and Fort Smith Arkansas and then on to Little Rock and a visit to the Bill Clinton Museum, another must see!!  They have a full replica of the Oval Office with Bill Clinton’s desk and personal effects and also the full Cabinet Room.  There are records of his schedule for each day he was in office, it is amazing!

Amarillo Texas was our next stop, then a stay in Yukon Oklahoma on Garth Brooks Drive.  Next was Tucumcari New Mexico, where we stayed overnight at the Historic Rt. 66 Motel.   Dinner and overnight in Gallup New Mexico, eating at Virgie’s Mexican Restaurant was unforgettable.  The place has been there 50 years and is a 5 star restaurant.  Entering Holbrook Arizona, we decided to make our last stop at the Petrified National Forest and Painted Desert.  The views there are unbelievable!

After driving more than 6000 miles, we arrived home safely in Phoenix with memories to last a lifetime!  We have many side stories that just cannot be told here.   There are so many pictures and videos of our trip that I will be posting another blog of just photos!!
